AFC South
1-Colts(12-4)
I initially was going to pencil them in for 13 wins..but after I thought about it...I know nothing about Peyton Manning's knee injury...is it major?...minor?...how is Marvin Harrison's knee?....I would assume that both knees are fine..but I feel that this team is a little older..and they could show their age this year..if not this year then next year...regardless...if Manning is throwing the passes, you have a reallly good chance to win.Joseph Addai is the main running back and he is a very good option..even with Harrison's questionable knee, they still have Reggie Wayne and Anthony Gonzalez and that is alot more than other teams have.Defensively they have a really nice unit headlined by the defensive player of the year Bob Sanders. As long as he and Dwight Freeney stay on the field...their defense will be in really good shape.Other than keeping its stars healthy..expect to see them in the playoffs.
2-Jaguars(11-5)
This team is knocking on the door. They have just about everything you'd want in a contender:accurate quarterback(Garrard),tandem in the backfield(Jones Drew& Fred Taylor) and a dominate defense. The one question I would have would be the options at wide receiver.Jerry Porter and Troy Williamson followed by Reggie Williams and Matt Jones together are serviceable at best,so when they go up against another elite defense with elite corners,I would question their ability to catch the ball and be effective.
3-Titans(9-7)
Tennessee is similar to the Jags except one thing..Vince Young isnt very accurate.Atleast not yet.But to his credit he is a playmaker because he is very mobile,so that semi-evens everything out.He also doesnt have very many weapons at the wide receiver spot.Justin Gage,Justin McCareins and Levelle Hawkins are names that will scare you,but Vince can make it happen. Also the Titans have an pretty underrated defense, but they can really get it done..here are two names you should know already...David Thornton and Cortland Finnegan.Quality players.
4-Texans(6-10)
This team has too many ifs...can Matt Schaub and Andre Johnson stay healthy?....can they muster any semblance of a running game out of 5 running backs?....whos the 2nd receiver?...the defense has some really nice pieces with DeMeco Ryans and Morion Greenwood, and dont forget about the player that they picked over Reggie Bush,Mario Williams...who had 14 sacks last year..not bad huh?..but I dont feel that their "ifs" will produce anything to make noise in this division this year.
